The new Bucks arena scoreboard will be about twice the size of the one in the BMO Harris Bradley Center and provide a stateof-the-art digital experience for fans, team executives say.

The new Milwaukee Bucks arena will have a scoreboard that will be about twice the size of the one in the BMO Harris Bradley Center and will provide a state-ofthe-art digital experience for all fans, team executives said Tuesday.

The scoreboard will be the “largest of its kind in the league,” team president Peter Feigin said at a news conference announcing the Bucks partnership with Daktronics, a South Dakota company that will create the digital displays inside and outside the new arena.

The scoreboard will allow fans to see replays and ads and engage with each other on social media, Feigin said, adding that it will have “a little bit of the ability to surprise and delight.” He noted that with the rapid advances in digital technology, “we’re not able to fathom the ability of this board.”

The scoreboard will include four display areas 25 feet tall by 29 feet wide and provide the same quality viewing experience for fans in all seats, said Daktronics Vice President Jay Parker. The main scoreboard will have “multiple underbelly displays” for those sitting closer to the court.

Feigin said the Bucks were investing about $10 million for the main scoreboard, other displays inside the arena and large outdoor displays. Those include a 15-foot-by-85-foot seethrough display that will wrap around the northwest corner of the arena and another large display that will be added to the side of the arena’s new parking structure.

The main scoreboard will be twice the size of that in the Bradley Center, the Bucks said. That scoreboard cost $3.2 million and was unveiled in 2010.

The $524 million taxpayer-supported arena is under construction just north of the Bucks’ current home, the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The arena, which has yet to be named, is slated to open in the fall of 2018.
