Healics, which specializes in risk assessments, biometric screenings and wellness coaching for employees, and Interra Health, which operates workplace health clinics for employers, are merging.

Healics, based in Milwaukee, and Interra Health, based in Brookfield, initially plan to retain both sites but eventually will consolidate their operations at one location.

The merged company, which will operate under the Healics name, will have almost 200 employees and almost 600 clients throughout the country, according to a new release from the companies.

Derek Boyce and Ryan Sommers, cofounders of Interra Health, will continue working for the merged company. The two founded Interra in 2001.

Patti Plough, who oversees operations, and Michael Naparalla, who oversees sales and marketing, bought Healics in 2011.

“The merger is a strategic opportunity to create a larger, stronger organization that will help us grow by securing new clients, providing a more extensive range of services to existing clients and innovating new approaches to corporate health, wellness and onsite and nearsite clinical care,” Plough said.

“The merger is bringing together two like-minded companies,” Boyce said. “Each has a driving passion to deliver a new, patient-centric approach to health care that includes wellness programs and clinics as core deliverables but also introduces forwardlooking services that expand the entire continuum of care offered at workplaces.”
