Wheel tax is bad idea

In reference to the Milwaukee County April 4 referendum to increase the regressive wheel tax to $60, I have three questions (“Voters to weigh in on $60 wheel tax,” March 21).

Why is the public finding out about the referendum just two weeks before the election? Why didn’t the county executive propose a wheel tax when he was running for re-election? And why do the county executive and some members of the County Board hate the taxpayers of Milwaukee County?
