First Look at new Broken Bat Brewery

- You can reach Kathy at kathy.flanigan@jrn.com. Create your own tour of Wisconsin breweries with Beer Near, an interactive listing of the state’s beer producers.

The Crafter Space, the people who organized Barley to Barrel, a program to help and encourage brewers open new breweries, have a new venture called First Look.

They want to offer the first look at new breweries, starting with Broken Bat Brewing, 231 E. Buffalo St. First Look is a chance to talk to Broken Bat owners Tim Pauly and Dan McElwee about the elbow grease it took to open the brewery and to sample their beers. The event costs $15 and tickets are available at eventbrite.com.

It’s the first in a series of First Look events, which will include the facility for Spike Brewing, makers of stainless steel brewing equipment.
