Harris fined $25K for incident with ref

-

Dallas Mavericks guard Devin Harris has been fined $25,000 for an altercation with an official that led to his ejection in a game against New Orleans.

Harris, a former star at the University of Wisconsin and Wauwatosa East High School, was punished Friday for aggressively pursuing official Ben Taylor and failing to leave the court in a timely manner in the 121118 loss to the Pelicans.

After Taylor called Harris for a blocking foul early in the second quarter Wednesday, Harris pushed past teammates to get to Taylor, who called the first technical. Harris then escaped the grasp of teammate Dwight Powell and rushed Taylor again, leading to the second technical and an ejection.

Caldwell-Pope arrested: Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious CaldwellPope has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after police say he was spotted speeding in suburban Detroit.

Auburn Hills police say an officer spotted a vehicle traveling 45 mph in a 25 mph zone about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday and stopped Caldwell-Pope.

He was arrested after a field sobriety test and taken to the police station, where a breathalyzer test showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.08%.

Okafor out for season: Jahlil Okafor was shut down Friday with a sore right knee for the remainder of the year by the Philadelphia 76ers.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 draft has played in just 50 games this season.
