Von Maur kicks off The Corners opening
Specials planed for Saturday
The Corners of Brookfield retail-residential development will welcome the public for the first time Saturday with the grand opening of Wisconsin’s only Von Maur department store, giveaways, food, entertainment and the launch of several other retailers.
A ribbon-cutting will mark the grand opening of the almost 150,000square-foot Von Maur store, the anchor of The Corners, a development that features more than 400,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space along with 244 luxury apartments.
The Corners is located on W. Blue Mound Road just east of S. Barker Road in the Town of Brookfield.
The first 1,000 adults to visit The Corners on Saturday will receive a “signature The Corners swag bag” containing freebies and coupons from some tenants.
Green Bay Packers play-by-play announcer Wayne Larrivee will be at Von Maur for a book signing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
While construction continues on apartments, restaurants and retail space at the development, some other tenants also will be open Saturday. They are Kendra Scott, J. Jill, Francesca’s, Twigs, Anthony Vince’ Nail Spa, Evereve and Scout & Molly’s.
According to The Corners public relations staff, some of the retailers have their own events planned:
When Anthony Vince’ Nail Spa opens at noon, the first 50 visitors will receive a free manicure or pedicure. All other guests will receive 50% off services for the day.
Evereve customers can get expert styling tips, snacks, refreshments and a 15% off storewide sale on Saturday and Sunday.
At Francesca’s, the first 20 guests in line Saturday will receive a free mystery gift card. All other shoppers can receive a buy one, get one 50% off special.
J. Jill customers will receive a free gift with a qualifying purchase of $100 or more while supplies last.
Kendra Scott will offer
“sips and sweets” at the store and a free gift with a qualifying purchase of $75 or more while supplies last.
Shoppers at Scout & Molly’s will receive 10% off storewide on Saturday.
Twigs will offer a free pair of Tory Burch flip-flops to the first 50 guests with a qualifying purchase of $250 or more.
BelAir Cantina will offer a limited, walk-up only menu in Market Square from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition, the first model unit of The Corners’ luxury apartments opens Saturday with tours from noon to 4 p.m. Residential property representatives will be on site all weekend to answer leasing questions. Apartment occupancy is scheduled for early summer.
Other restaurant and retail tenants are scheduled to open throughout spring and summer, including Sendik’s on April 23 and L.L.Bean on June 30, The Corners said. Other tenants signed up so far: Anthropologie, Arhaus, Cafe Hollander, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, lululemon, Paper Source and Wisconsin Vision.
