O’Reilly Auto Parts set for Forest Home Ave.

- TOM DAYKIN

A site that has a south side Milwaukee greenhouse has been sold to a developer that plans to build an O’Reilly Auto Parts store.

A series of parcels in the 1500 block of W. Forest Home Ave. were sold by MHG LLC of Elm Grove to Chattanooga, Tenn.-based development firm Hutton Team LLC for $550,000, according to state real estate records posted Thursday.

Hutton develops buildings for grocery store operators and other retailers, according to its website. A Hutton executive couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.

The site houses Sweetbush Inc., a tropical plant rental business, and an associated florist business, Tiger Lily Floral. Hutton plans to demolish the greenhouse and other buildings at the site and build an O’Reilly Auto Parts store this summer, said Michael Giljohann, who operates Sweetbush and Tiger Lily Floral.

Giljohann said his businesses are moving to 406 W. Walnut St., to warehouse space developed through the recent expansion of Sid Grinker Restoration.

Meanwhile, Sweetbush and Tiger Lily are having a moving sale before those operations complete their relocation by the end of May.

The parcels sold to Hutton total around 30,100 square feet, according to city assessment records.
