To mark Arbor Day, there’ll be free admission Friday to Boerner Botanical
Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners, in Whitnall Park.
Free saplings will be available to 100 visitors. The gardens open at 10 a.m. After a treeplanting ceremony, horticulturist Dave Wanninger will lead a walk through the gardens and arboretum, focusing on the historical trees on the grounds. Info: countyparks.com
The Milwaukee Repertory Theater holds a prop
and costume sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Paint Shop at the Rep, 108 E. Wells St. Among the items for sale: a functioning mini-bumper car from the Rep’s production of “Assassins”; red satin drapes from “Liberace”; and assorted stuff from productions of “A Christmas Carol.” (The Rep is selling stuff, it says, because it has run out of room in its warehouses.) New-music ensemble Present Music performs in a new venue — the Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W. Wells St. — for “Time, Nature, Culture, Sound” at 7 p.m. Saturday. The music, including the world premiere of a work by Cory Smythe, will be performed within and around some of the museum’s exhibits. General-admission tickets are $25. Info: presentmusic.org
Biloba Brewing Co.
hosts a party for its third anniversary and grand reopening from 2 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at its tasting room and brewery, 2970 N. Brookfield Road, Brookfield. Specialty beers will include a 2year-old Lambic aged in Pinot Noir barrels, and a stout aged in rye whiskey barrels on tap. They’ll bring out other specialty beers, too, and will tap a couple firkins. Billy Crowe and the Confessions will perform. Food will be available from Just Smokin’, a barbecue food truck.
