Fish Creek: Door County Half Marathon. Cheer on runners as they race through Peninsula State Park on May 6. The race finishes with a party at Nicolet Bay Beach featuring beer from Door County Brewing Co. See door countyhalf­marathon.com.

Kenosha: Wisconsin Marathon. Choose from distances of 5K, half marathon and marathon for this race along the lakefront in Kenosha on May 6. The race kicks off at 7 a.m., with a post-race party at Harbor Park featuring beer and brats. Registrati­on by May 4 is $30 for the 5K, $75 for the half marathon and $95 for the marathon. La Grange: Southern Kettles Classic. Mountain bikers will take to the John Muir Trails on May 6 for this race, which is part of the Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series. Non-series racers can join for fees ranging from $15 to $45. See wemseries.com.

Madison: Maifest. Raise a glass to spring at the Essen Haus from noon to 6 p.m. May 6. The celebratio­n will include live music, food, a maypole dance and other kids’ activities, and beer from Lakefront Brewing Co. and others. See essen-haus.com.

Racine: Open House Racine County. Explore historic buildings in Racine County on May 6. More than 60 sites will be open to visitors, including the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings at the SC Johnson campus in Racine and the grounds of the Wind Point Lighthouse. Most sites are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. See realracine.com.

St. Croix Valley: Spring Art Tour. Tour artists studios in the Upper St. Croix Valley May 6-7. Artists in everything from sculpture to watercolor­s will open their doors to visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Some studios will also be open on Friday. See earthartsw­i.org.

Throughout Wisconsin: Work Play Earth Day. Pitch in with spring cleanups at state parks around Wisconsin on May 6. Join events at Devil’s Lake, Hartman Creek, Rib Mountain, Roche-a-Cri and Rock Island. They all take place from 9 a.m. to noon and volunteers are asked to bring their own shovels and gloves.
