Janet Jackson sets new concert dates

Milwaukee show is now on Oct. 22

True to her word, Janet Jackson has rescheduled concert dates she had canceled in 2016 to start her family.

Now the tour, initially dubbed “Unbreakable” after her well-received 2015 album, has a new name: the “State of the World Tour.” It stops at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Oct. 22.

“It’s not about politics,” Jackson said in a video she shared on social media Monday night. “It’s about people, the world, relationships, and just love.”

In the 90-second video, Jackson also confirmed her recent split with husband Wissam Al Mana. “We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands,” she said.

Jackson gave birth to her first child, Eissa Al Mana, on Jan. 3.

In December 2015, Jackson announced the postponement of her “Unbreakable” tour after finding out “from my doctors that I must have surgery soon.” She said the tour would resume in the spring, but in April 2016, Jackson delayed her tour with 70 North American dates remaining, on doctor’s orders to rest while trying to start a family.

One of those dates was June 5, 2016, in Milwaukee.

Her “State of the World Tour” is a hefty 56-date North American run, kicking off Sept. 7 in Lafayette, La., and ending in Atlanta on Dec. 17.

Tickets purchased for postponed concert dates will be honored, including the Milwaukee show. Previously purchased parking passes for Jackson’s Bradley Center concert will also be honored.

Refunds are available through June 5 at the point of purchase. For more information, visit bmoharrisbradleycenter .com or call (414) 2270894.

Additional tickets for $26.95 to $122 are available beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the box office (1001 N. 4th St.), by calling (800) 745-3000 or visiting ticketmaster.com.
