Bristol: Mother’s Day Ephemeral Brunch & Spring Wildflower Hike. Bring your mom to Pringle Nature Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 14 for guided hikes and a light brunch. Admission is $15 for adults, $7.50 for kids 10 and under. Reserve your seating time by May 12. See pringlenc.org.

Eagle River: Journeys Marathon. Choose from a variety of distances from a 5K to a marathon for this race through the Northwoods on May 13. All distances finish at Riverview Park, where brats and beer will be available for purchase. Registrati­on is $35-$70. See eagleriver.org.

Elkhart Lake: Jazz on the Vine. Wine, food and jazz meet at this festival at The Osthoff Resort May 12-14. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. May 12 and 1:30 p.m. May 13, with a special Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14. Tickets are $85 per day or $155 for Friday and Saturday. Horicon: Horicon Marsh Bird Festival. This festival May 12-15 includes a keynote speech from birder and humorist Al Batt, “The Big Sit” daylong bird count, a beginner’s guide to birding and more tours. Prices vary by event. See horiconmar­shbirdclub.com.

Manitowish Waters: Northwoods Birding Festival. Look for migrating songbirds in the Northwoods at this festival hosted by the North Lakeland Discovery Center May 12-13. The festival includes talks, hikes, canoe trips and more. Admission is $40. See discoveryc­enter.net.

Pewaukee: Kiwanis RiverRun. Float 7 miles down the Pewaukee River in a canoe or kayak on May 13. The race starts at 8:15 a.m. at Koepp Park in Pewaukee and finishes at Frame Park in Waukesha.
