Thanks for featuring house

-

Thank you for featuring a 2,200square-foot home where a predominant feature is to include the outdoors and a great deal of natural light, a 1962 home where the current owners have kept the previous (and original) owner’s furniture, original window blinds for the 114 windows, original wallpaper and even some original carpeting (”U-shaped house ‘feels like you’re outdoors when you’re indoors,’ ” April 30).

Since moving in in 1999, the Pohls’ remodeling has consisted of turning a half bath into a full bath and replacing kitchen linoleum and countertops. They took down seven trees because they “didn’t want them falling on the house.” The home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The couple has two grown daughters, who presumably grew up in the house. One of the bedrooms is a guest room for the Pohls’ three small grandchildren, and another is the office for Susie Pohl’s business.

This contrasts with another house featured in the same Fresh section, a 5,800-square-foot home built on an empty lot in 2015 for a couple and two children. It has a “light and bright interior.” The home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, including one with “Carrera” marble flooring. The owners “had to clear trees, then also bring some trees in to add to the landscaping” (“Seven houses show range of possibilities in sought-after location,” April 30).
