NOTABLE Player of the week: McKenzie

Brophey, Wauwatosa West. The Trojans (11-6) have already almost doubled last season’s victory total thanks, in part, to the play of Brophey, a junior third baseman/ outfielder who leads the team with a .476 batting average. Last week Tosa West went 4-1 with victories over South Milwaukee, Greendale Martin Luther, Pewaukee, Wauwatosa East and Brookfield East. Brophey hit .625 in those games with nine runs and six runs batted in. She was 3 for 3 with two RBI in a 15-5 victory over Pewaukee on May 4. Team of the week: Greenfield. In a battle between Woodland leaders, the East Division-leading Hawks got the best of West Division-leading New Berlin West, the area’s top–ranked team at the time, 5-4. The Hustlin’ Hawks rallied from a 3-0 deficit, scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh to get the win. Junior Taylor Johnson went 3 for 4 with a RBI and junior Hannah Ruffert went 2 for 3 with a RBI. Junior pitcher Alyssa Vikowski allowed just one earned run and struck out 12. The team then beat Muskego, Mukwonago and Germantown to win the Germantown Invite for the third straight year.
