Wisconsin ranked the nation’s best state for nurses
Nursing is a challenging, demanding profession, but there’s no better state to do it than Wisconsin.
WalletHub ranked the Badger State as the best in the country for nurses in a recent study.
The website considered 18 factors in its rankings, from job openings per capita and annual salaries to educational opportunities and work environments.
Senior health
Wisconsin is also good for seniors. The state ranked 10th for senior health in the United Health Foundation’s 5th annual America’s Health Rankings Senior Report, up from No. 13 last year.
Wisconsin ranked high in a number of categories, including the number of seniors who are able-bodied (3), health screenings (4), home health care (7), volunteerism (7), dental visits (8), seniors not living in poverty (9) and physical activity (10).
Minnesota ranked No. 1 overall, while Mississippi came in last.
Milwaukee loves landscaping
It’s only green for a fraction of the year, so it makes sense that Wisconsinites are obsessed with their lawns.
Milwaukee ranks 10th in the country for lawn and garden projects, according to Infogroup.
The marketing company looked at which metro areas (with more than 1 million people) had the highest concentration of lawn and garden businesses — that includes landscape designers, contractors and garden centers.
Hartford, Conn., was the country’s top city for lawn and garden care.
