SentrySafe launches upgraded pistol safes
New offerings can hold two firearms instead of just one
Oak Creek-based SentrySafe has launched upgraded versions of its quick-access pistol safe, which is designed for customers to quickly and quietly retrieve their guns in the event of a home invasion.
The company, which is a Master Lock affiliate, debuted the XL Quick Access Pistol Safe in May 2012, but this week added increased-capacity models that will be able to hold two pistols instead of only one.
“As the demand for firearms continues to climb, we developed the new expanded-capacity pistol safes, which empower users to keep their firearms and families safe and secure,” said J.P. Benjamins, senior product manager for SentrySafe.
One of the main goals of the safes’ design is to allow users the ability to retrieve their guns while staying hidden from a home intruder.
To safeguard from unauthorized access, the safes are built with pry-resistant doors and steel exteriors, and the only way to unlock them is by entering a full sequential code into
the keypad or using the backup key if the user forgets the code.
The expanded-capacity safes are currently available online at Amazon and the SentrySafe and Home Depot websites.
The market list price for the dual-pistol safes starts at $169.99.
SentrySafe is headquartered in the Master Lock building at 6744 S Howell Ave., Oak Creek, where there are 400 employees doing administrative work, product design, engineering, software development, prototyping and testing.
The gun safes are manufactured overseas.
The company distributes products to more than 54 countries worldwide, offering fire-resistant and security storage products including fireresistant chests, files, safes and storage containers.
