It’s possible to save money on admission when you’re headed to the Wisconsin State Fair. Here’s how: Before you go: Offer ends Monday: Buy State Fair tickets for $9 at any Bank Mutual branch.

Purchase two 12-packs of any Leinenkuge­l’s bottle beer or one 30-pack of Miller Lite and receive one State Fair ticket. (You must be 21 or older to purchase.)

Offer valid Aug. 9: Spend $30 or more at any Wisconsin Meijer store by Aug. 9 and present your receipt at any fair entrance to purchase an adult admission ticket for $4 before 6 p.m. Double up, but soon: These offers end Monday: The Wisconsin State Fair teams up with Irish Fest to offer fairgoers one ticket to State Fair and one ticket to Milwaukee Irish Fest for $18.

For $15, fairgoers will receive one State Fair ticket and one adult admission ticket to the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Donate a pint of blood at any BloodCente­r of Wisconsin donor center to receive a free State Fair ticket. At the gate: Aug. 3: Bring in at least two nonperisha­ble food items or make a cash donation to benefit Hunger Task Force outside any fair entrance to receive admission for $2.

Monday: From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., adult admission tickets are $5, and those 11 and younger get in for free for Kohl’s Family Value Day.

Aug. 13: Veterans, military personnel and up to three of their family members will receive free admission until 4 p.m. WISCONSIN STATE FAIR Dates: Aug. 3-13 Location: Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis

Hours: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Admission: $12 for adults and children 12 and older, $7 for military personnel and seniors, and $7 for children ages 6 to 11. Children 5 and under are admitted free.

Keep in mind that there will be a metal detection checkpoint at each gate, so allow extra time for entry to the fair.
