PREP FOOTBALL: WEEK 4 GAMES TO WATCH

- Mark Stewart

Games 7 p.m. unless noted THURSDAY

Germantown (2-1) at Waukesha West (3-0): Last week Germantown nearly rallied all the way back from a 17-point deficit before losing to Brookfield Central, the area’s third-ranked team, 24-21. Next up are the second-ranked Wolverines, who have won their last two games by an average of 451⁄2 points.

FRIDAY Racine Case (2-1, 0-1 Southeast) at Franklin (3-0, 2-0): Before you dismiss Case’s chances, note that it played Oak Creek close last week and last year led Franklin by 13 points before the Sabers mounted a furious rally to win. Greendale (2-1, 2-0 Woodland West) at New Berlin Eisenhower (3-0, 2-0): This marks the start of a key stretch for Eisenhower, which faces the division’s final two undefeated teams in two weeks. Up next will be New Berlin West at home. Pewaukee (1-2, 0-2 Woodland West) at New Berlin West (3-0, 2-0): The record may not show it, but Pewaukee is still dangerous. It will be the toughest opponent West has faced so far. Kenosha Bradford (2-1, 0-1 Southeast) at Oak Creek (2-1, 1-0): This has the makings of another evenly matched showdown between these programs. Last year Bradford won in the regularseason matchup by one point but lost in the playoffsby 10 in a game decided in the fourth quarter. Wilmot (1-2, 1-0 Southern Lakes) at Waterford (1-2, 0-1): Waterford has two double-digit losses, but don’t count it out. Last week’s 38-21 loss to Badger was a tie game after three quarters. Plus these teams usually play each other close. Three of the last four meetings have been decided by seven points or fewer. Kettle Moraine (2-1, 2-1 Classic 8) at Arrowhead (1-2, 0-2): Kettle Moraine’s only loss came by one point to Waukesha West in the season opener. Could this be the year the Lasers beat Arrowhead for the first time since 2003? Catholic Memorial (3-0, 2-0 Classic 8) at Muskego (2-1, 2-0): The winner will join Waukesha West, which is playing a nonconference game this week, as the final undefeated teams in the Classic 8. Brookfield East (3-0, 2-0 Greater Metro) at Sussex Hamilton

(3-0, 3-0): Hamilton, which is off to its best start since 2012, can really make a statement by beating the defending Division 2 state champion.

SATURDAY Racine St. Catherine’s (3-0, 1-0 Metro Classic) vs. Racine Lutheran (3-0, 1-0) at Horlick Field, 1 p.m.: This is the first of two straight games for defending league champion St. Catherine’s that will be on the road against undefeated teams. It is at Shoreland Lutheran next week.
