Algoma: Wet Whistle Wine Fest. Taste wines, take part in a grape stomp, enjoy live music and more at this festival Sept. 15-16 at von Stiehl Winery. Admission on Friday is free; Saturday is $10, kids 12 and under are admitted free. See vonstiehl.com.
Chippewa Falls: Oktoberfest. Enjoy four stages of entertainment, German food and beer, sauerkraut-eating and beer-stein-holding competitions and more during this festival Sept. 15-17 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Admission is $15 for the weekend. See gochippewa falls.com.
Kansasville: Candlelight Walk. Go for a fall hike by candlelight at Richard Bong State Recreation Area from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16. Choose from a 2-mile route or a shorter guided hike. The event is free, but state parks admission stickers are required to get into the park. See wiparks.net. Lake Mills: Tyranena Oktoberfest Bike Ride. Choose from routes of 25, 45 and 65 miles in Jefferson County on Sept. 16. All rides start at Tyranena Brewing Co. and finish with free tours and live music at the brewery. Registration is $50 and is required by Sept. 13; it includes support along the ride, two drink tickets and dinner after the ride. See tyranena.com.
Marshfield: Maple Fall Fest. This festival Sept. 16-17 at Wildwood Park includes arts and crafts vendors, a bike tour, a kids zone with a petting zoo and inflatable rides, two maple syrup contests and plenty of food. See visitmarshfield.com.
Racine: Great Lakes Brew Fest. Sample beers from more than 75 brewers plus enjoy music and food at this festival from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Racine Zoological Gardens. Tickets are $50. See greatlakesbrewfest.com.
