More wine tasting fun
A chance to sample an array of wines in one place is yours at the Journal Sentinel Food & Wine Experience Nov. 4 and 5 at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Vendors are still being lined up for the annual food and drink extravaganza, but to date these Wisconsin wineries and wine businesses will be pouring sample-size portions: Parallel 44 Vineyard & Winery in Kewaunee; Door Peninsula Winery in Sturgeon Bay; Von Stiehl Winery in Algoma and Captain’s Walk Winery in Green Bay; Vines to Cellar in Port Washington; and FrenchBébé Beverage Co. near St. Croix.
In addition, Total Wine & More, the superstore chain, will sponsor a Wine Cellar area on the main exhibit floor and also pour wines in the Critic’s Choice area featuring Top 30 restaurants.
A special five-course preview dinner will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Mason Street Grill, with pairings from Klinker Brick Winery. Tickets, at $130, include entry to the Nov. 4 Grand Tasting of the Food & Wine Experience and can be purchased through foodandwine.jsonline.com. Discounted tickets ($25 off) for the dinner are available for JS Insiders, current Journal Sentinel subscribers who have activated their accounts online. (Log in at jsonline.com/insider.) Advance tickets to a single day of the Grand Tasting are $50; to both days, $75. Tickets to Saturday’s Critic’s Choice cost an extra $30; and to a special Saturday Meet & Greet with Pastry chef and Food Network host Duff Goldman, including his cookbook, an extra $60. Tickets to the Grand Tasting and Critic’s Choice also will be available at the door.
