AREA PREP FOOTBALL GAMES TO WATCH

-

Games at 7 p.m. unless noted THURSDAY Whitnall (8-0, 7-0 Woodland East) at New Berlin Eisenhower (8-0, 7-0 Woodland West): A battle between undefeated teams is a first for the Woodland championship game. The West has won three of the four title matchups since the conference adopted divisions. Eisenhower needs to win or risk a division title share with Greendale, a team it beat, 31-0, in Week 4. FRIDAY Milwaukee Marshall (6-2, 5-1 City Blackbourn Division) vs. Milwaukee Bay View (6-2, 6-0 Richardson Division) at South Stadium, 6 p.m.: An entertaining season in the City Conference will be capped by a showdown between teams that are new to the conference championship game. The game will count as non-conference in the standings. Catholic Memorial (7-1, 6-1 Classic 8) at Waukesha West (8-0, 7-0): West’s senior class has accomplished a lot, but it has never defeated the Crusaders. Memorial, which needs a win to get a piece of its second straight league title, has won the last five meetings. Arrowhead (5-3, 4-3 Classic 8) at Waukesha North (4-4, 3-4): If the Northstars beat Arrowhead for the second straight year, they’ll be on their way to the playoffs for the first time since 2006. Dominican (4-4, 3-3 Metro Classic) at Martin Luther (4-4, 4-2): Dominican can assure itself of its second straight playoff appearance with a victory. Lake Country Lutheran (8-0, 5-0 Midwest Classic) at Brookfield Academy (4-4, 3-2): Lutheran would assure itself of a fourth straight undisputed conference championship with a victory. Whitefish Bay (9-0 overall and North Shore) at Hartford (6-2): With a victory, Bay would claim the North Shore title all for itself and end Homestead’s streak of 16 seasons with at least a conference title share. Hartford, meanwhile, needs a win to avoid the possibility of falling into fourth place in the league. Grafton (3-5 overall and North Shore) at Port Washington (4-4): Port Washington’s chance of a second straight playoff berth hinges on its ability to avoid an upset this week. Westosha Central (5-3, 3-3 Southern Lakes) at Wilmot (3-5, 3-3): Wilmot has played a tougher schedule, but both squads find themselves in need of a victory to get into the playoffs. If Central wins, the playoff berth would be the Falcons' first since 2010. Racine Horlick (8-0, 6-0 Southeast) at Kenosha Indian Trail (3-5, 3-3): After Horlick's convincing wins over Oak Creek and Franklin, don’t count on the Rebels having a letdown even though the Hawks are in desparate need of a win. Shorewood/Messmer (3-5, 2-5 Woodland East) vs. Wisconsin Lutheran (3-5, 3-4) at Wisconsin Lutheran College: Lutheran needs a victory or its 17-year playoff streak will be snapped.
