Oak Creek basketball coach charged with having sex with student
OAK CREEK - Oak Creek High School teacher and head boys basketball coach Michael Jossie was charged Friday with two counts of sexual assault of a child.
The criminal complaint said he and a 15-year-old student had sex multiple times, including in the classroom.
Jossie, 39, is facing two felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child under age 16. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison on each count.
According to the crimi- nal complaint, a cleaning and maintenance employee saw Jossie and a female student “engaged in inappropriate physical behavior” after school hours on Monday at the Oak Creek High School Ninth Grade Center, 8640 S. Howell Ave.
The employee then reported the incident to the ninth-grade principal, who contacted police.
During an interview with a police officer, the student said she had developed a relationship with Jossie and that they had started a sexual relationship this summer, according to the complaint.
Police also interviewed Jossie, who confirmed he had “more feelings than you are supposed to have as a teacher” for the student and that he and the student had a sexual relationship, which included oral sex and intercourse multiple times in his office and classroom at the ninth-grade center and twice at a hotel in New Berlin.
According to the criminal complaint, Jossie gave her $70 to buy the “morningafter pill,” following one of their sexual encounters Oct. 4.
Jossie was placed on administrative leave Tuesday.
Before coaching at Oak Creek, Jossie was also the head basketball coach at West Allis Central from 2005-’09, and the junior varsity/assistant coach at Pius XI from 2002-’05, according to the Oak Creek Knights basketball website.
