USA’s ‘Suits,’ FX’s ‘Taboo’ set to return

- RICH HELDENFELS

Q. My wife and I binge-watched six seasons of “Suits” on Amazon Prime. We liked it so much that we paid for the seventh season on Amazon. We watched 10 episodes and then they stopped. It did not seem like the finale, so what’s going on?

A. USA Network, where the new episodes originally air, is one of those networks that splits up the seasons of its shows to spread them across more of the year. With “Suits,” part of the seventh season has been shown and the remaining episodes will begin airing on USA in January.

Q. Do you know when “Taboo” will be back on TV? It was a series with Tom Hardy, and I think it was on Fox.

A. A second season of the series, which airs on FX, has been ordered, but reports indicate production will not begin until sometime in 2018.

Q. I watched the first episode of “M*A*S*H” and noticed a different actor playing Father Mulcahy. I would like to know why this change occurred.

A. On the pilot episode of “M*A*S*H,” George Morgan played the original Father Mulcahy, but he was replaced by William Christopher in the part. In an online discussion, “M*A*S*H” series creator Larry Gelbart said there was nothing wrong with Morgan’s acting; it was just that the show wanted Mulcahy to have a “quirkier personality,” and Christopher — who also had auditioned for the role — had that.

Q. Several months ago, I began watching “Home Fires” on PBS. After several episodes it disappeared and I was not able to find how it concluded. Why was it taken off the air?

A. The World War II drama, with a total of 12 episodes spread across two seasons, was canceled by its British broadcaster after the second season. If you want to see if you have missed any episodes, you can find them online at pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/shows/ home-fires.
