Jennifer Hudson saves Richfield’s Mrozak with a steal on ‘The Voice’
Richfield teen Hannah Mrozak lost her knockout round on “The Voice” Tuesday.
But she’s not out yet.
After Mrozak lost to Anthony Alexander on the NBC singing show, despite her riveting rendition of Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain,” judge and coach Jennifer Hudson used her lone “steal” option to save Mrozak from elimination.
Mrozak will now move on to the “playoffs,” the show’s first live performances this season, as part of the Oscar-winner’s team, after being mentored since her audition by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
“(Adam Levine), thank you so much for everything and it was an honor to have been able to work with you,” Mrozak wrote in an Instagram message Tuesday night. “(Jennifer Hudson), I am so excited to work with you! Thank you for believing in me! And lastly, thank all of you guys for your love and support! I am so incredibly blessed.”
Hudson and Levine, and Blake Shelton, all competed to recruit Mrozak to their team on the Oct. 2 episode, following her audition with Hailee Steinfeld’s “Starving.”
The 18-year-old then defeated fellow Levine team member Brandon Showell during a battle round on the Oct. 17 episode.
Mrozak, a singer in the Milwaukee area since she was 6, is no stranger to singing competitions. She was one of the top 48 singers on “American Idol” in 2015, the same year she won the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Rising Star Award.
