Water Street Brewery celebrates 30 years of brewing

- KATHY FLANIGAN

Happy 30th anniversary, Water Street Brewery.

The brewpub — Milwaukee’s first when it opened in 1987 — celebrates 30 years this week by putting the spotlight on original beers Water Street Amber and Old World Oktoberfest. The brew pub also is bringing back its Sporten European Lager in limited quantities and putting on Boston Fog, a dry-hopped Northeast IPA.

The party begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at all four Water Street Brewery locations: 1101 N. Water St.; 140 W. Town Square Way, Oak Creek; 2615 Washington St., Grafton; and 3191 Golf Road, Delafield. Pints will be available for $2, the original prices from 1987.

All locations will be part of a raffle for customers to win free beer for a year. Brewmaster George Bluvas will give tours on the hour at the original Water Street location.
