1 beer festival, 2 bar anniversary parties, more
You might think beer fans would be taking some time off after the Black Friday rush of special releases.
You would be wrong.
No one will be standing in line in the predawn hours, but there are still a few ways to get specialty releases this week in metro Milwaukee.
Saturday: The first Mountaintop Beer Festival lets you sample beers from 2 to 5 p.m. at Alpine Valley Resort, W2501 County Road D, Elkhorn. Tickets are $35 in advance and are available online at eventbrite.com or by phone at (800) 227-9395; $40 at the door; and $25 with a ski-lift ticket. The festival will benefit the Holiday Help of East Troy Program.
Saturday: It’s an anniversary day. Romans’ Pub, 3475 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., celebrates 39 years with a Christmas party from 6 p.m. to midnight, according to the event page on Facebook. Meanwhile, Champp’s taps rare beers for its third Anniversary Party, 1240 S. Moorland Road, Brookfield. The party begins at 10 a.m. See the event page on Facebook.
Monday: Biloba Brewing hosts a Beer & Cheese Pairing from 7 to 9 p.m. in the tasting room, 2970 N. Brookfield Road, Brookfield. Brewer Gordon Lane, a certified cheese maker, will guide the tasting, which includes a 15-year Hooks Cheddar. Tickets are $25. You must reserve a spot in person at the brewery.
Wednesday: Hale House, 10539 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, breaks out the Founders CBS at 5 p.m. The barrel-aged brew, last bottled in 2011, is among the rarest of Founders’ beers.
Dec. 13: Brew City MKE, 275 W. Wisconsin Ave., presents Behind the Beer Christmas Edition: Miller Valley’s Chocolate Lager stars. It’s a chance to taste and learn the history behind one of the brewery’s rare beers. It starts at 6 p.m. See the event page on Facebook.
