1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash in Falls
MENOMONEE FALLS - One person was killed and another was flown to a hospital after a head-on crash involving an SUV and a semitrailer truck Wednesday.
The crash occurred at 9:37 a.m. at Boundary Road south of County Line Road, according to a the Menomonee Falls Police Department news release.
One occupant of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was flown by Flight for Life with serious injuries, the release said.
The semitrailer was heading south on Boundary Road when it collided with the northbound SUV, the release said. The driver of the semitrailer was not injured.
Missing 88-year-old woman found dead
An 88-year-old Milwaukee woman was found dead about a block away from where she was reported missing, authorities said Wednesday.
A Silver Alert was issued overnight for Josephine Johnson, who was last seen about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a house in the 3700 block of N. 5th St., according to Milwaukee police.
The alert was canceled shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday. About the same time, the Milwaukee County medical examiner’s office was notified of a report of a deceased woman about a block away from where Johnson was last seen.
Police later confirmed it was Johnson. No further information was immediately available.
