Bielema’s buyout revealed
The buyout for fired Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema’s contract has been set at $15.4 million.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette obtained a copy of the agreement between Bielema and the Razorback Foundation under the state’s open records law. The foundation’s executive director said the agreement hasn’t been finalized.
The buyout proposal matches an amount listed in Bielema’s public employment contract with the university, which fired him on Nov. 24 after the team went 4-8. He had three years left on his contract.
The information was released after the Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge ruled that Bielema’s contract had a high level of public interest.

FOOTBALL
The Canadian Football League said it would approve a contract for quarterback Johnny Manziel if one is reached with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who have the former Heisman Trophy winner on their negotiation list. The team has 10 days to make an offer to the 25-year-old Manziel, who would remain on the list for another year even if he rejects the bid.
The league said in September it would not approve a contract for Manziel until next season and only if he met certain conditions stipulated by Commissioner Randy Ambrosie.
