“Hangman”: Al Pacino plays a detective on the trail of a serial killer whose crimes mirror the children’s game Hangman in this 2017 movie, which didn’t open in Milwaukee theaters last year but is getting a onetime showing in three theaters Thursday: 4:30 p.m. at Times Cinema, 5906 W. “Mary and the Witch’s Flower”: Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the director of the Oscar-nominated movie “When Marnie Was Here,” returns with a fresh animated fantasy about a girl who gets unusual powers from a strange and beautiful flower. It’s getting a one-night showing Thursday at hundreds of theaters around the country, including Marcus Theatres’ Majestic, Menomonee Falls, North Shore, Ridge and South Shore cinemas, with a dubbed version at 7 p.m. and a subtitled edition showing at 8 p.m. $15.
