AChicago-based online flower delivery startup, Flowers For Dreams, opened its first Milwaukee retail location Thursday. For now, it’s just a pop-up shop at the Milwaukee Public Market. It will be selling flowers through Feb. 15. A permanent retail location in Milwaukee will be announced after Valentine’s Day.

Flowers for Dreams sells locally crafted, artisan bouquets and gives one-quarter of all profits to charity. A bouquet starts at $35 with delivery.

The pop-up shop on the second floor of the public market will be open every day through Feb. 15. The 100square-foot space matches the company’s artisanal aesthetic — bouquets are wrapped in burlap — with a stand made from reclaimed wood.

Floral arrangements at the pop-up start at $15. It’s also selling greeting cards from Bay View Printing Company.

Each month, Flowers for Dreams donates to a different local charity. In February, the company is donating to

the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. It has given more than $200,000 to local charities since 2012.

Steven Dyme, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, started Flowers for Dreams in 2012. It started filling orders in Milwaukee last year and has assembled a small team based here.

The Flowers for Dreams shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
