Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday unveiled a new website to help companies seeking to do business with Foxconn Technology Group connect with the electronics manufacturer.

The site, wisconnvalley.wi.gov, also lets firms sign up to be notified of bidding opportunities and will provide construction updates and other information on the Foxconn project.

Meanwhile, Walker said an event will be held next month to provide information on the Foxconn development to current and potential construction workers. The “resource fair” is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 at Racine’s Festival Hall, 5 Fifth St.

The state also will hold a series of informational sessions on the Foxconn project for contractors.

The schedule has not yet been set, but the meetings will be held in Appleton, Eagle River, Eau Claire, Janesville, La Crosse, Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Platteville, Superior and Wausau.

Taiwan-based Foxconn plans to build a $10 billion, 22-million-square-foot complex in Mount Pleasant to manufacture large liquid crystal display panels. The firm stands to receive about $4 billion in subsidies from state and local government for the development.

Foxconn is expected to break ground this spring.

Work has begun to lay new water lines to serve the huge manufacturing campus, and the state is moving forward with widening of I-94 from southern Milwaukee County through Kenosha County.
