Roby, Williams unanimous picks

Back to back. That was the theme of the day Monday for Milwaukee King’s Sydnee Roby and Milwaukee Academy of Science’s Shemera Williams.

The junior standouts were among the unanimous selections on the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Associatio­n all-state girls basketball teams. Both also were unanimous picks last season.

Roby, a 6-foot-4 center, averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and two assists per game for King, which won a share of the City Conference title and reached the sectional final.

Williams, who was a Division 5 selection last year, also led her team to the sectional final. She led the state in scoring with 39.9 points per game and averaged 12.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.

The WBCA’s Miss Basketball Award, which is given to the state’s top senior went to Seymour’s Hailey Oskey.

A UW-Green Bay recruit, the 510 guard averaged 18.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the Thunder.
