Video captures armed home break-in in Milwaukee

-

Milwaukee police are searching for three armed men who broke into a south side home with a woman and her son inside during a terrifying encounter that was captured by private security cameras.

The men with guns broke into a home in the 3000 block of S. 33rd St. about 10:20 p.m. Saturday and stole electronics, police said.

The men fled and authorities are continuing to look for them, police said Thursday.

Earlier this week, the woman posted security footage showing the men coming through her backyard and kicking in her side door. The cameras captured her son running through the dining room with one of the armed men close behind him.

“My son was laying on the couch when he heard the first sign of a breakin and quickly ran upstairs to my bedroom where it was just me and my dog,” Thevy Keungsavath-Pena wrote on Facebook.

The two were the only ones home and stayed upstairs until they heard the men leave soon after they broke in, she said.

“All of our lights were on and there were clearly people inside but these men did not hesitate to still come in,” she said, adding: “Please be aware of your surroundings! We are definitely prepared from now on and hope that everyone else takes the same precautions.”

She said her son saw the men fleeing in a red, four-door Cadillac sedan. Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee police at (414) 935-7360.
