Cedarburg’s Diener is all-state again

Cedarburg’s John Diener pulled off a rare feat.

The senior guard earned all-state recognitio­n from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Associatio­n for the fourth straight year. The DePaul recruit was an honorable mention pick in Division 2 as a freshman. The next year, he claimed firstteam distinctio­n and the past two seasons he has been an unanimous first-team pick.

Diener averaged 23.2 points per game this past season and led the Bulldogs to its second straight North Shore Conference title.

Whitnall senior Tyler Herro was a firstteam pick in Division 2 for the third straight season. Two other area players, Milwaukee Washington’s Deontay Long in Division 2 and Prairie School’s JC Butler in Division 4, received first-team distinctio­n for the second consecutiv­e year. DIVISION 1
