-

Authorities in Houston, Texas, issued a warrant Friday for the arrest of three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett, who is accused of injuring a paraplegic woman as he tried get onto the field at the 2017 Super Bowl to celebrate with his brother.

The Harris County district attorney’s office said a grand jury indicted 32-yearold Bennett, a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, on a felony count of injury to the elderly.

Bennett was a spectator at the game at NRG Stadium in Houston in February 2017 when he tried to get onto the field immediately afterward to see his brother, Martellus Bennett, a tight end for the Patriots at the time.

Prosecutors allege he pushed through security personnel, including a 66-yearold woman in a wheelchair who was a stadium employee and who had told him to use a different entrance to access the field. Bennett is also accused of pushing two other people, including another woman, and ignoring a request by a police officer to stop as he made his way onto the field.

The Eagles earlier this month acquired the 32-year-old Bennett from the Seattle Seahawks, where he became one of the dominant defensive linemen in the game.

Chargers lineman suspended: Los Angeles Chargers defensive lineman Corey Liuget will be suspended without pay for the first four games of the upcoming season for a violation of the NFL’s doping policy.

Liuget, 28, said he takes “full responsibility” for the violation. During his off-season training program, the veteran lineman said he “placed my trust in someone who, in hindsight, was not well-versed in the NFL’s policy on banned substances.”

Liuget has been a fixture on the Chargers’ defensive line since 2011. He started 12 games last season, getting 21 tackles and 11⁄2 sacks.

Dolphins sign Osweiler: Quarterback Brock Osweiler has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, where he will be reunited with coach Adam Gase.

They were together when Gase was an assistant with the Denver Broncos in 2012’14. In Miami, Osweiler is expected to back up Ryan Tannehill.

Osweiler, 27, went 0-4 as the Broncos’ starter last season and has 25 career starts in six NFL seasons.

Wallace to join Eagles: The Eagles agreed on a one-year contract with wide receiver Mike Wallace.

The 31-year-old Wallace spent the past two seasons in Baltimore and had 52 catches for 748 yards and four touchdowns last year. The deal is worth $4 million.
