Ex-GOP official accused of making woman sex slave

- Mary Spicuzza

A Las Vegas GOP political operative who previously worked for the Republican Party of Wisconsin is facing accusations that he sexually enslaved and battered his ex-fiancée.

The woman provided copies of emails, text messages and a signed contract laying out her duties as a “slave in training” to Benjamin Sparks, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday.

The newspaper cited a Las Vegas police report saying that Sparks evaded police after a March 29 domestic dispute, adding that officers determined there was “probable cause to arrest Sparks for domestic battery.” Charges are pending, according to the report.

Sparks could not be reached for an interview Thursday.

Sparks previously served as spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin during the 2012 recalls targeting Gov. Scott Walker and GOP senators, working for the state party from November 2011 to June 2012. He also worked as spokesman for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign in Wisconsin.

The newspaper reported Sparks and his ex-fiancée signed a five-page contract stating that she would be his “slave and property.” Under the contract, the woman was forced to kneel and look down when she entered his presence, be nude at all times, have sexual relations with him whenever he wanted and wear a collar in private.

The newspaper also reported the woman told police she tried to leave during the March 29 incident, but Sparks wouldn’t let her leave for two hours — however, he called 911 and claimed she had tried to kill herself and battered him.

The police report added that the woman refused to complete a voluntary statement for officers and “that she did not attempt to call police, despite having access to her phone, during the two-hour period that Sparks was alleged to have blocked her escape,” the newspaper said.
