THIS WEEK IN PREP BASEBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tanner Peterson, Wilmot: Sweeps don't come easily in the Southern Lakes, but Peterson, a junior, did his part last week. Against Badger last Tuesday, he hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning of a game the Panthers eventually loss. Two days later he took the mound and threw his third complete game of the season, a 7-0 win in which he struck out seven and walked one. He capped the week by going 2 for 4 with two RBI in an 11-1 win over Kenosha Indian Trail.
Zach Guenther, Waterford: The junior has helped the Wolverines reach the top of the Southern Lakes with a 4-0 record. He has allowed five earned runs in 22.2 innings with 22 strikeouts.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
Hartford: The Orioles made a statement by bouncing back from a loss to Arrowhead on Tuesday to beat Catholic Memorial, 16-12, Wednesday and shutting out Arrowhead, 5-0, Thursday.
