ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

ON Ben THE Schnoor, TRACK Germantown: The sophomore the 3,200 got the meters best at of the a loaded Myrhum field Invitation­al in Saturday, winning the race in 9 minutes 23.11 seconds, a time that would ranked among the top five in the state according to latest state honor roll.

HONORABLE MENTION Darios Crawley-Reid, Martin Luther: The Spartans junior won the 100 in his best time of the season (11:05) at Martin Luther's Spartans Invitation­al Friday, a time that ties for third-best in Division 2.

Jordan Marshall, Racine Park: The junior won the 100 and 200 in 11.10 and 23.02 at the Demon Invitation­al in Burlington.

IN THE FIELD Will McDonald, Waukesha North: The senior showed his range as an athlete at Kettle Moraine’s Steinke Laser Invite Friday, winning the shot put (157-91⁄2), long jump (21-9) and high jump (6-0). On a state-wide level, his effort in the shot put had the biggest impact. That distance would rank among the top 10 of the latest posted state honor roll by wisconsint­rackonline.com.

HONORABLE MENTION James Carter, Oak Creek: The senior swept the jumps at the Myrhum Invitation­al Saturday, equaling his season best in the long jump (23-2) and extending his state-best mark in the triple jump to 47-91⁄4.

Ty Olejnik, Sussex Hamilton: The Chargers senior is hitting his stride in the long jump. He popped his season-best in the event (23-91⁄2) at the Steinke Laser Invitation­al and then won the Ron Burling Invitation­al Tuesday at Menomonee Falls with a mark of 23-71⁄2. Those performanc­es followed a jump of 22-93⁄4 on May 1 to win the Greater Metro Relays.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Lake Country Lutheran: The Lightning brought home the title at the Spartans Invite at Martin Luther. The team finished with 128 points, 22 better than second-place Martin Luther.
