ON THE TRACK

John Ford, Nicolet: The junior led the Knights to a second-place finish at the North Shore Conference meet Tuesday by winning 100 meters in 10.87 seconds, the 200 in 22.05 and the 300 intermedia­te hurdles in 40.72. Ford’s 100 and 200 times were season bests. According to the state honor roll kept by athletic.net, his 100 time is tied for fifth best this season while the 200 time ranks third. Ford just misses the top 10 in the hurdles with his best time of the year, a 40.23 finish at the Myrhum Invitation­al May 5.

IN THE FIELD Mitchell Moeller, Cedarburg: For the second straight week, the Bulldogs senior posted an impressive winning throw in the discus. On Tuesday, he swept the shot put and the discus titles at the North Shore Conference meet, posting a throw in the discus of 164-0. Last week at a meet hosted by Cedarburg, he had a season-best throw of 1661⁄2.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Wauwatosa East: The Red Raiders won their first conference outdoor title in 33 years Tuesday when they captured the Greater Metro Conference title. Led by a strong showing in the sprints, Tosa East finished with 162 points, 31 better than second-place Brookfield East. Junior Lewis Huenink led the charge by posting area-best times in the 100 (10.8) and 200 (21.74) as well as anchoring the team’s 800 relay to victory in 1:30.92. East also scored a victory in the 800 from sophomore Maxwell Radcliffe, who ran a personalbe­st time of 1:58.82, and the 400 relay that finished in 42.82.
