Downtown Diggs offers tour of Milwaukee condos

Units range from $165K to $1.2M, 1-4 bedrooms

While the suburban Milwaukee market for single-family homes remains red hot, condominiums for sale in the heart of the city of Milwaukee are selling at a relatively fast pace, too.

Almost halfway through 2018, the average number of days on the market for condos in Milwaukee was 59, up a few from the same period in 2017 but much faster than an average of 100 days only four years ago.

The average price has increased about 3 percent, to $336,787 from $328,379 in the first half of last year.

This Saturday, you can get a better look at some of the properties for sale during the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors’ annual Downtown Diggs event.

Downtown Diggs, similar to a parade of homes for single-family houses in the suburbs, will give visitors an inside look at what some condos on the market have to offer someone considering living downtown.

“It’s an opportunity to see more than a dozen different types of condos — everything from along the Milwaukee River down over to the east side,” Monica Baer, of the Greater Milwaukee Realtors Association, said Wednesday.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

A Realtor will be at each location to show the condo to visitors, Baer said.

Among the condos on display this year are units featuring one, two, three or four bedrooms, with list prices ranging from $165,000 to $1,175,000. Some features that can be seen on this year’s tour: 12-foot ceilings, exposed cream city brick walls, rooftop patios, balconies, and kayak and boat launches.

Here are the condos on the 2018 Downtown Diggs tour.

More could be added by Saturday, Baer said. Check at www.gmar.com.

Maps will be available Saturday morning at the Milwaukee Downtown kiosk at the East Town Market at Cathedral Square.
