Overplaying his hand
Peter Navarro, President Donald Trump’s lead trade adviser, said after the G-7 Summit: “There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door.” (“Trump’s team accuses Trudeau of stabbing him in the back,” June 11).
I always find it a bit presumptuous when someone claims to know God’s mind as to who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. Even more so when someone claims to know about a special place in hell that is even hotter.
I can forgive someone for imagining hell for the 9/11 terrorists or the mass murderer at Sandy Hook Elementary. But Navarro overplayed his hand when he sentenced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to a special place in hell for publicly disagreeing with Trump.
Trump is not God. Heck, he isn’t even king... yet.
