15 ways to get into Summerfest cheaper or for free
Here are 15 Summerfest freebies and promos for 2018:
June 27 (Noon to 3 p.m.): Donate 3 non-perishable food items to get into Summerfest free that day, to benefit Hunger Task Force.
June 28 (Noon to 6 p.m.): All beverages half-off (excluding ice cream drinks and smoothies) for Summerfest’s Throwback Thursday promotion.
June 29 (Noon to 3 p.m.): Wear a shirt or hat representing one of the following colleges to get in free that day: Alverno College, Bryant & Stratton College, Cardinal Stritch University, Carroll University, Concordia University, Lawrence University, Marquette University, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Area Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
June 30 (Noon to 3 p.m.): Bring a Goodwill Store & Donation Center receipt for a purchase worth $10 or more to get into Summerfest free that day. Restricted to the first 1,500 people. Receipts must be from a purchase from between June 1 and 30.
July 1 (Noon to 3 p.m.): The first 2,500 people who donate three nonperishable cans of kid-friendly food (to benefit Hunger Task Force) get into Summerfest free that day.
July 1 (Noon to 3 p.m.): All activeduty military personnel and veterans who present their military ID at the designated turnstiles get into Summerfest free that day, along with up to four other family members.
July 1 (4 to 6 p.m.): General admission during the promotion time is $10 per person and all beverages (excluding ice cream drinks and smoothies) are also 50 percent off during the promo period.
July 3 (Noon to 4 p.m.): All patrons ages 60 and older will get in free and receive a $2 off coupon with a $10 purchase (not applicable for alcoholic beverages).
July 3 (Noon to 3 p.m.): Present a valid Harley Owners Group card for a single general admission ticket for July 3. H.O.G. members also have access to the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse Hospitality Deck from noon to 9 p.m. (limited space, first-come, first-serve).
July 4: Free July 4 general admission tickets are available to the first 15,000 people who download the Summerfest App.
July 5 (Noon to 3 p.m.): All festgoers admitted free during this time frame.
July 6: The first 750 people who bring a Red Lobster dated from May 28 to July 6 will get into the festival free. Receipts for admission will be accepted beginning at noon through 3 p.m. at the latest, while supplies last.
July 7 (Noon to 3 p.m.): The first 1,500 people to bring a new or gently used children’s book with a minimum $10 value will be admitted into Summerfest. The books will be donated to the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum.
July 8 (Noon to 3 p.m.): All festgoers will get in free.
Weekdays throughout Summerfest: Present a Milwaukee Business Journal Power Lunch coupon between noon and 2 p.m. on weekdays to get a free Summerfest general admission ticket valid that day.
Summerfest runs June 27 to July 1 and July 3 to 8.
