Presentation tool a showcase for tech firm’s operating system

Fasetto wants to simplify interaction, create jobs

Fast-growing technology company Fasetto LLC is trying to create an agnostic operating system. This big-thinking technology company is a rarity, operating in Superior, a town of fewer than 30,000 people.

Before Fasetto releases Gravity OS to everyone, Fasetto CEO and founder Coy Christmas said the company wants to get a product in people’s hands to show what the agnostic operating system can do. The product, Forum, provides a meeting hub.

The Forum, Christmas said, eliminates the potential for technical issues when presenting or holding a meeting. No more fumbling with dongles and thumb drives and projectors, he said. Christmas said he just needs to have the 21⁄2-inch wide Forum in his pocket.

“When I walk into a room, I don’t have a problem,” he said.

With the Forum, meeting attendees view the presentation elements, such as a PowerPoint, on their own smartphone, laptop or other Wi-Fi enabled device. Here’s how the Forum works: Audience members connect a Wi-Fi enabled device to the Forum’s network. Then they open any browser, and the presentation will display there. It sounds simple because it is, Christmas said.

Meeting leaders can make documents available for download and interact with the audience through polls and other ways. The Forum also connects to Amazon’s Alexa, and presentation can be run through that device.

Fasetto is selling the Forum through an Indiegogo campaign for $199 for the next month. So far, around 200 people have purchased Forums through the campaign.

The devices are being manufactured now and will be delivered in November. Christmas expects the sale will allow Fasetto to turn a profit for the first time this year.

Fasetto raised more than $4 million in a funding round that closed in April, documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission show. It received an additional investment in June from the venture capital arm of the Samsung Group. The company has raised nearly $6 million since 2016, according to SEC documents.

The company has 45 employees, 15 of whom work in Superior. Christmas said he anticipates growing the company to 100 employees by the end of the year.

Ultimately, the idea is to knock down the walls for app developers.

“You’ll be able to write one code and have it work for all devices,” said Christmas. The developer kit for Gravity OS will be released in the third quarter of 2019, Christmas said.
