Twenty One Pilots coming to new arena
After a yearlong hiatus, genreblurring rock duo Twenty One Pilots on Wednesday premiered two new songs and announced a new fall tour, with the fourth show happening at the new Milwaukee Bucks arena Oct. 20.
“The Bandito Tour” is in support of the duo’s new album “Trench,” out Oct. 5. The album is the follow-up to “Blurryface,” which featured huge hits “Ride” and “Stressed Out.” The duo’s last big single, “Heathens” for the “Suicide Squad” movie in 2016, went platinum six times over in the United States.
On Wednesday, the band posted a video for the new song “Jumpsuit” on YouTube, and released the audio for “Nico and the Niners” to streaming services.
Twenty One Pilots is renowned for its electrifying live show. Its last appearance at the Rave’s Eagles Ballroom in 2015 — where members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun gave each other tattoos on stage – made the Journal Sentinel’s list of best concerts of the year.
Tickets for the Oct. 20 Milwaukee show — at the tentatively named Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center — go on sale at 10 a.m. July 20. Tickets are $39.50 to $79.50, and will be available by calling (800) 745-3000 or (866) 448-7849, or visiting ticket master.com.
This is the 15th show announced so far for the $524 million arena, constructed with $250 million in public money. The grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 26, with more details to be announced.
