Madison-based logistics and transportation company SwanLeap is the fastest-growing U.S. company on the annual Inc. 5000 list.

SwanLeap earned the top spot on Inc. magazine’s annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country.

PopSockets and Home Chef took the second and third spots on the list, respectively.

SwanLeap outdid the other companies by growing 75,661 percent over the past three years, according to the magazine.

The companies are ranked according to the percentage of revenue growth from 2014 to 2017.

SwanLeap uses artificial intelligence to help manufacturers and retailers manage timing and cost of shipments.

SwanLeap’s customers save an average of 26.7 percent with the service, the company said.

The company had $99 million in revenue in 2017 and 49 employees.

Brad Hollister founded SwanLeap in 2013.

Hollister’s company is growing as fast as he can hire software developers, he said in the Inc. article about the ranking. His 12-year-old son ended up helping out with some of the programming over the summer.

“It’s like looking through a kaleidoscope on LSD, man,” Hollister said in the Inc. article. “I never know which way is up.”
