1. BROOKFIELD CENTRAL (13-1 in

2017): Last year’s Division 2 runner-up returns its top rusher, receiver and passer.

2. MUSKEGO (9-4): The Warriors’ combinatio­n of speed and power will have them in the hunt for their third Classic 8 title in five seasons.

3. FRANKLIN (10-2): The Sabers will go after their fourth straight season of double-digit wins with 14 returning starters.

4. CATHOLIC MEMORIAL (9-3):

The Crusaders have some big-time talent. Staying healthy will be the key for Crusaders against the big schools of the Classic 8.

5. MARQUETTE (6-5): Faster and stronger this year, the Hilltopper­s are expected to give Brookfield Central a fight in the Greater Metro.

6. HOMESTEAD (9-2): Defense will set the tone as the Highlander­s chase their 18th straight North Shore title.

7. SLINGER (7-4): Beating the Owls will require someone to beat them in the trenches.

8. RACINE HORLICK (10-1): The Rebels’ fortunes will depend on how quickly players from an 8-1 JV team adjust.

9. GREENDALE (9-3): The Panthers will try to build on last year’s Division 2 state quarterfin­al run.

10. WAUKESHA WEST (12-1): If the lines develop, the Wolverines will again be a factor in the Classic 8.
