Mexican Fiesta starts Friday
Calibre 50, Mariachi Reyna are the entertainment headliners.
Leading norteño band Calibre 50 tops the entertainment lineup for Mexican Fiesta this weekend at Maier Festival Park.
In a Billboard profile of the group, Jesse Katz described them as “part Facebook-savvy boy band, part bootstomping Sinaloa cowboy quartet.” Calibre 50 performs at 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
Other notable musical acts at Mexican Fiesta include the all-female Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles (3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday), reggaeton duo RKM & Ken-Y (9:45 p.m. Friday) and Tejano singer-songwriter Bobby Pulido (9:15 p.m. Friday).
WWE wrestling star Tito Santana will visit during Brew City Wrestling events at 1:30 and 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the Sports Area.
The custom car and motorcycle show displays lowriders and other classic vehicles from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday on the south end of the grounds.
Mexican Fiesta’s Día de los Muertos exhibit includes a parade; the lineup forms at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the south gate.
Hours: Noon to midnight Friday through Sunday
Admission: $17 at the gate, free for children 8 and younger accompanied by an adult.
Discounts: Free admission for everyone from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Free admission noon to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for people 65 and older, people with disabilities, active-duty military personnel and veterans with ID.
Mass: Lakefront procession lineup begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. in the Marcus Amphitheater.
Fiesta Run & Walk for Diabetes & Obesity Awareness: Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Use the MidGate. The run starts at 9 a.m., the walk at 9:45 a.m. Registration is $10 per person, with discounts for families and teams.
