WEEK 3 GAMES TO WATCH

-

Games begin at 7 THURSDAY Badger (0-2, 0-0 Southern Lakes) at Waterford (1-1, 0-0):

The Southern Lakes schedule makers wasted no time in setting the course of the league race. Badger, the three-time defending champion, faces the team many in the conference believe can end the that team’s reign. One of these teams has grabbed a piece of the conference title each year since 2012.

FRIDAY Martin Luther (2-0, 0-0) at Dominican (2-0, 0-0) at Whitefish Bay:

One of the Metro Classic favorites, Martin Luther has done nothing to diminish that standing. Senior running back Darios Crawley-Reid has amassed 603 total yards on just 20 touches without playing in a second half of victories over Whinall and University School. . Muskego (2-0) at Brookfield East (1-1): The battle to watch in this non-conference matchup will be in the trenches between Muskego’s offensive line and the defensive front of East. The Spartans gave up 229 yards rushing to Marquette running back Daeleon BrownWilliams a week ago as the Hilltoppers ran the ball 57 times. Muskego’s offense will bring more of the same, but with multiple backs.

Homestead (2-0, 2-0 North Shore) at Grafton (2-0, 2-0):

After a pair of wins over West Bend East and West, Grafton gets the cream of the crop in the conference. Joey Giorgi has run for 270 yards in the team’s first two games but will be going up against a tough Highlanders run defense.

Marquette (2-0, 1-0 Greater Metro) at Sussex Hamilton (2-0, 2-0):

Hamilton sits atop the Greater Metro Conference after wins over West Allis Hale and Wauwatosa West, so Marquette will present the Chargers with the toughest challenge they have faced. If either team wants to challenge for the conference title, this is a game to win.

Waukesha North (0-2, 0-2 Classic 8) at Kettle Moraine (1-1, 1-1):

Waukesha North will need to break through in order to avoid an 0-3 start. The Northstars have not found a rhythm running the ball just yet, with quarterback Johnny Kelliher leading the team in rushing yards with 51 on 18 carries.

Greendale (2-0, 1-0 Woodland West) at Pewaukee (1-1, 0-1):

Pewaukee lost last week, 31-0, to Eisenhower, the defending division champion. If you believe in comparing scores then this game will shed some light on what could lie ahead for the Greendale-Eisenhower showdown in Week 4.
