Eat, drink and be merry at Wine & Food Experience
There’s still time to get your tickets to Saturday’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Wine & Food Experience.
Held outdoors for the first time, in Reed Street Yards Park across the river from the Harley-Davidson Museum, the premium food and beverage tasting event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. for most ticketholders.
Several levels of tickets are available. Tickets to the Grand Tasting from 1 to 4 are $50 in advance, $85 at the door.
The Grand Tasting includes unlimited sampling of foods prepared by local chefs, chef demonstrations and tasting of fine wines and craft beers. Participating restaurants are largely from dining critic Carol Deptolla’s annual list of best restaurants.
A VIP Grand Tasting ticket costs $80 ($115 at the door) and includes one hour early admission, starting at noon, and access to a separate VIP lounge, featuring premium wines and hors d’oeuvres.
A third
option,
the Chef ’s Package at $150, includes all of that plus a meet and greet and autograph signing with the event’s celebrity chef, Richard Blais.
Besides Blais, other chefs lined up for demonstrations at the event are barbecue pitmaster Phil the Grill (Phil Johnson), Dan Jacobs from DanDan and EsterEv, and Classy Girl Cupcakes. Additionally, interactive cooking experiences will be offered in the Grateful Cooking Tent.
Live music will be provided by Piano Fondue from Madison and singer-songwriter Blaine Long of Chandler, Ariz., a participant on Season 11 of “The Voice.”
