Restaurant events are returning in earnest, now that fall is on the way. Some of the hunger-satisfying things to do:
Basque dinner — The food of Spain and France's Basque region is on the table Sept. 27 at Lake Park Bistro. The restaurant's Basque general manager, Didier Ibar, consulted on the menu and a local farmer grew the region's espelette peppers for the dinner. Leaders in Local Food — Braise restaurant will have a three-course dinner and discussion Sept. 30 with visiting chefs Jordan and Aurora Coffey of the farmto-table American Harvest Eatery in Springfield, Ill. Sommelier Series — The first in the series is six wines and five courses with Sarah Marquis, owner and winemaker at Mollydooker Wines in Australia's McLaren Vale. The Oct. 9 dinner is $97 at exploretock.com. Dinners will be at SURG on the Water, 102 N. Water St.
Coquerel Family Wine Estates — This Napa Valley vintner will be featured at a six-course dinner Sept. 27 at the Union House in Genesee Depot; Coquerel's Cabernet Franc will be paired with braised lamb shank, for instance.
