Old Dominion 35, No. 12 Virginia Tech 27: Blake LaRussa came off the bench to throw for 495 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Old Dominion to an upset of Virginia Tech on Saturday in the Hokies’ first game at the cross-state school that restarted its football program in 2009. LaRussa completed 30 of 49 and rushed for a touchdown to lead the 28½-point underdog Monarchs (1-3) past the Hokies (2-1).

No. 3 Clemson 49, Georgia Tech 21: Freshman Trevor Lawrence took a leading role in Clemson’s quarterbac­k rotation, coming off the bench to throw four touchdown passes for the visiting Tigers. After starter Kelly Bryant produced just 13 yards and one first down on Clemson’s first two possession­s, Lawrence entered the game early in the second quarter.

No. 8 Notre Dame 56, Wake Forest 27: Ian Book rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two more, and Notre Dame (4-0) beat host Wake Forest 56-27. Book replaced Brandon Wimbush in the starting lineup and was 25 of 34 for 325 yards with touchdown passes covering 3 yards to Brock Wright and 7 yards to Chase Claypool.

No. 21 Miami 31, FIU 17: N’Kosi Perry came off the bench to throw three touchdown passes, and host Miami’s defense was airtight for most of the day in a victory over FIU. Travis Homer rushed 13 times for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Florida State 37, Northern Illinois 19: Deondre Francois threw for a season-high 352 yards and two touchdown passes as host Florida State used an efficient first-half offense to win. Francois had his seventh career 300-yard day, completing 23 of 31 passes. The junior had a 78-yard touchdown pass to Tamorrion Terry and an 8-yard TD pass to Jacques Patrick.

Duke 55, N.C. Central 13: Quentin Harris passed for 202 yards and three touchdowns before leaving with an injury for host Duke. Brittain Brown rushed for 118 yards and a score and added a 43-yard touchdown catch to help the Blue Devils start 4-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1952-53.

Syracuse 51, Connecticu­t 21: Eric Dungey scored three touchdowns and threw for another to key a first-half blitz for host Syracuse. Syracuse, which has not yet trailed this season, has won its first four games for the first time since 1991 and only the fourth time since the end of World War II.

Virginia 27, Louisville 3: Bryce Perkins threw for 197 and two touchdowns and ran for another 78 yards and a score, twice hurdling opposing defenders, as host Virginia opened ACC play with a convincing win. The Cavaliers are 3-1 to open the season for the second straight year. Louisville fell to 2-2.

North Carolina 38, Pittsburgh 35: Antonio Williams ran for two scores while Nathan Elliott threw for two more to help host North Carolina beat Pittsburgh.
